RTP breakdown
Relax Gaming ships Money Train 4 in two main RTP variants:
- 96.10% — the standard build. This is what you get on natural Money Cart triggers (no buy).
- 96.50% — the Bonus Buy variant. Mathematically higher because the buy itself takes a known cut and the math compensates back on natural triggers.

Grid mechanics — what 6×4 scatter-pays means
Money Train 4 doesn't use paylines. Instead it uses scatter-pays:
- The grid is 6 columns × 4 rows = 24 cells.
- To win, you need 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid.
- The more matches in a cluster, the larger the payout. 8 matches = small win. 12+ matches = significant win.
- Symbol positions don't matter — only the count.
This is the same engine MT2 and MT3 used, scaled to a wider grid. The bigger grid means clusters land more often than they did on MT2's 5×4 — but Relax balanced this by making the bonus harder to trigger naturally.
Symbol values (base game)
Card-rank symbols are the low-pay group:
- 10, J — lowest pay
- Q, K, A — slightly higher
The themed symbols are the high-pay group — the masked outlaw characters from the Money Train universe. They look like cyberpunk-western bandits with distinct masks, each with a payout multiplier attached. The cluster size needed for a meaningful win is generally 10-12 matches for high-pay symbols.
The bonus scatter is the most important symbol in the game. It's the only one that triggers Money Cart, and three or more land you there.
Money Cart bonus — the engine
The Money Cart bonus is where 95%+ of the game's payout potential lives. Mechanics:
- Triggered by 3+ bonus scatters on the base grid.
- You enter with 3 re-spins.
- Each spin only persistent modifier symbols can land — payers, collectors, snipers, multipliers, payer-collectors, necromancers, plus 15 other named variants (21 total).
- Every new landing resets your re-spin counter to 3.
- The bonus ends when 3 consecutive re-spins land no new modifiers, or when the grid fills.
- At round-end, all modifiers trigger in a fixed sequence and your total payout is calculated.
The variance inside the bonus alone is enormous. A "fizzle" round pays 3-10× stake. A monster round can hit thousands of × stake, and on rare occasions, the 150,000× ceiling.

Bet range — why the A$6 ceiling is unusual
